Hearing the Body, Seeing the Voice – Performance für Solostimme und Video-Tryptichon

Stimm- und Hörszenen sowie Bildräume aus dem dicht- urbanen Umfeld der Megalopolis Kairo und der menschenleeren Hochebene des Gletschers Tsanfleuron (Wallis, CH) schaffen ein komplexes audiovisuelles Spielfeld.
Natur und Technik, Stille und städtischer Moloch, die „Utopie des leeren Raums“ und Entgrenzung im urbanen Strom, klangliche Konzentration und lärmende Dichte, Mono- und Polyphonie, Sehen und Hören – diese starken Gegensätze führen das Publikum in ein dynamisches Spannungsfeld zwischen poetischem Stimmenraum und bewegten Bildern. Es entsteht ein Grenzen überwindendes und Fremdes integrierendes Stimmopus.

Vocal and environmental sequences as well as image spaces from the Megalopolis Cairo and the deserted plateau of the glacier Tsanfleuron (Wallis, CH) create a complex audiovisual field.
Nature and technology, silence and urban Moloch, the „utopia of empty space“ and dissolution in the urban stream, tonal concentration and noisy density, mono and polyphony, seeing and hearing – these strong contrasts lead the audience into a dynamic field of tension between poetic vocal spaces and images in motion. The result is a boundary-overcoming and foreign integrating Stimmopus.

Thanks to the egyptian composer Dr. Nahla Mattar, for supporting the project in Cairo, by offering the artists a special access to the local musical culture. Thanks also to the Faculty of Music Education (FME) of the Helwan University of Cairo and the singers Hoda Nossier, Amira Reda, Amir Hedayah, Bela Elshik.
